Sorcerer guide

True Word arcane magic. The go-to offensive caster — powerful but demanding in experience.

1 min read

The Sorcerer (magic family, Table A) channels True Word magic: the classic archetype of the versatile, offensive arcane caster.

Fantasy and role

You are the party's raw magical power. You end encounters with spells, control the field and provide answers no sword can reach. In exchange, you manage your MP with care.

Strengths

  • High magical impact: damage and effects that flip a fight.
  • Versatility: arcane magic opens responses steel doesn't have.
  • Scales well with your caster level: the higher you go, the more it shows.

Watch-outs

  • Table A: powerful but pricey to level; plan your experience curve.
  • Fragile: without a frontliner to cover you, you're a priority target.
  • You manage MP: choose when to spend and when to save.

Good partners

  • A Fighter or Grappler to hold the line while you cast.
  • A Priest to sustain the party and let you focus on damage.

Recommended combo

Sorcerer + Fencer: all the arcane power with a light blade to defend yourself if something closes the distance. Open an example build in the planner.

How to start

Check its page in the Explorer and use the Planner: your MP comes from the sum of your magic levels ×3 + Spirit, so you'll see it grow as you level.

FAQ

Is Sorcerer hard to play?

It has more management than a warrior: you're fragile and you manage MP, and being Table A it costs more to level. In exchange, your magic solves what steel can't.

What does Sorcerer combine with?

With a frontliner to cover you, like the Fighter. Remember: your MP comes from your magic levels ×3 + Spirit.
